Movers and Shakers NSW is a registered charity that raises money to support people and families effected by Parkinsons.

In 2019 we had two incredibly successful fundraisers and raised over $30,000, with our overall tally now well over $100,000. Our 4th annual event at Lizotte's was once again a fabulous night of entertainment and generosity. Thank you to everyone that supported our events this year! The funds raised is of enormous benefit in supporting people with Parkinson's in the Hunter.

Local Musician and all round great guy Scott Date has written and performed an incredible nine track playlist dedicated to our charity’s cause in raising money to support people with Parkinsons’.

The benefits of fundraising activities will particularly assist in;

We provide funding that helps employ and provide crucial resources for specialist Parkinson’s Nurses.

Activity and social interaction is so important for people with Parkinson’s and our fundraising helps fund exercise and support programs.

We work with and donate to Parkinson’s Support Groups and organise ‘Parkinson’s Family’ gatherings and social events.

Our charity and everything it does raises overall awareness of Parkinson’s Disease.

Movers and Shakers NSW was established as a registered charity in 2015 and has raised over $100,000.

Movers and Shakers NSW exists because someone we love and admire has Parkinson’s and this has created a burning desire to be leading contributors in raising funds that help people with Parkinson’s and their families get access to support, care and awareness programs.

We are a Newcastle (NSW) based charity all of our fundraising is aimed at local support, professional care and exercise programs.

Past Events

Movers and Shakers NSW hosted its first Fundraiser in October 2015 which was hugely successful. It was a 1950’s themed event held at Lizottes in Newcastle. Since then we have held several extraordinary themed events including ‘Gatsby’ (1920’s) and 1970’s and also had some picnic style family fun days at local Newcastle/Lake Macquarie parks.

Our entertainment has included Darren Percival, The Diamond Show, Harlem Swing, Love that Hat and the NEW FM Crew as hosts.

We are grateful and overwhelmed with the support we have received in donations from local businesses and community members to enable us to run monster raffles and auctions with amazing prizes.

in 2019, our Australiana themed fundraiser at Lizottes in was enormously successful and Dragon really rocked the night. We had so many generous donations.

A special thanks to Brian Lizotte for donating a signed guitar that fetched a whopping $9,200 in the auction. We are extremely grateful for the gentleman ‘Chris’ that donated it back and when we auctioned it again Glenn Parsons’ hand was the final bid. Thank you!

And our Golf day at Nelson Bay GC was a huge success and we thank Garry Johnson and the Nelson Bay community for supporting our cause.
